About Claire
Hi! I’m Claire Murdoch, I am a professional dog trainer from Dorking, Surrey, and I run the Positive Dog Training Academy.
Through the Positive Dog Training Academy, I offer a wide variety of dog training classes, so there is something to suit dogs of all ages and abilities. My current classes include; puppy training, adolescent dog training, 1-2-1 training sessions, hoopers, and scent work.
I am passionate about using kind, force-free, effective training methods to help dogs and their owners to understand one another better. I am also a great believer that there is no need to train dogs using fear, force, or aversive tools or methods, because great things can be achieved when you use positive reinforcement based techniques.
I am a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild, who share the same values and principles as myself, and alongside this, I regularly complete courses through the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), and Canine Principles to make sure that all of my knowledge is up to date.
Whether you would like to understand your dog’s behaviour more clearly, or you would like some help with how to manage unwanted behaviour, or even if you just want some fun activities for your dog to enjoy with you, please get in touch with me for advice on which of my services would be best suited to you and your dog.
I am also a qualified Dog First Aider, with an Emergency Canine Care certification which covers the following:
